This site is operated by Postlewhite Plumbing Installations, a Gas Safe registered plumbing & heating business based in Macclesfield, Cheshire, United Kingdom.

What information we collect

We collect two types of information:

Information you give us when you contact us by phone, text, WhatsApp, email or Facebook Messenger: your name, phone number, email address, the address of the property where work is needed, and the details of the plumbing job.

Information collected automatically when you visit this website, via Google Analytics: pages visited, time on site, approximate location (city / region from IP address), device and browser type, and referring website. Your IP address is anonymised by Google before it's stored. This is only collected if you accept analytics cookies.

How we use your information

We use the information you provide to respond to your enquiry, prepare quotes, carry out the plumbing or heating work you've asked us to do, send invoices, and follow up on jobs.

We use website analytics to understand which pages are useful, where visitors come from, and to improve the site over time. Analytics data is aggregated and not used to identify individual visitors.

Lawful basis

Under UK GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases for processing your information:

• Performance of a contract when you've asked us to carry out work for you.
• Legitimate interests for responding to enquiries and basic record-keeping (in a way you'd reasonably expect from a small business).
• Consent for analytics cookies, set only after you click Accept on the cookie banner. You can withdraw consent at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer.
• Legal obligation for record-keeping requirements such as tax records.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising purposes.

How long we keep your information

• Enquiry messages (email / WhatsApp / Messenger): up to 12 months unless we have an ongoing business relationship.
• Job records and invoices: 6 years, to comply with HMRC tax requirements.
• Analytics data: up to 14 months in Google Analytics.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct anything that's wrong
• Have your information deleted (where we don't have a legal need to keep it)
• Restrict or object to certain processing
• Withdraw consent at any time (for analytics, via the Cookie settings link)
• Receive a copy of your data in a portable format
• Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk if you're unhappy with how we've handled your data
